ELECTRiCIAN TRAINEE

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to:

  • be drug Free/ Clean Driving Record
  •  lift 50 lbs on a daily basis or as required.
  • to climb and work on ladders up to 16’ of height
  •  to work in crawl spaces (under floor and attic) for extended periods of time.
  • to drive a motor vehicle
  • handle an environment with possible contact with insects, spiders or rodents (intermittently)
  • BE AN ASSET NOT A BURDEN. What does this mean? easy to work with, open to learning + retaining new information, take direction + apply it.
  • Open to learning something new everyday + Listen, process and follow directions

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Provide clear work ethic + awareness to improve your performace each week( Improve your work performance to meet the minimum standards of FBE in 30 days)
  • Improve your listening and following of directions of supervisors
  • Understand your scope of work and achieve the goal, timely.
  • Wire a bedroom, (layout, drill, rough wire and finish complete) 30 days.
  • Determine how you are going to help and fit into the FBE crew. What can I bring to this
  • company?
  • Must work with general supervision only. (Must be able to work independently)

GENERAL RESPOSNSIBILITIES

  • Support staff for Journeyman electrician
  • Learn about basic electricity and NEC code
  • Learn tools, material and construction names and uses
  • Crawling, climbing, digging as needed to complete work
  • Learn Basic wiring methods and installations
  • Perform task’s increasing faster and better each time you perform them
  • Terminate fiber optic cabling and Copper data cabling.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Load and unload truck with material
  • Clean trucks
  • Lay out and gather journeyman tools daily
  • Nail boxes, general wiring, lighting install and general layout
  • Listen and follow verbal commands.
  • Ask questions & answer while driving to and from jobs, about wiring.

WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on increasing your aptitude. (Ex. Layout and wire a bedroom complete, no help)
  • Work on challenges that you have not overcome. (Understanding GFCI’s, Dimmers,
  • Phones, Data ect…)
  • Work on seeing the whole picture and how you fit into it. Ex. I work for FBE, FBE work
  • for General Contractor, GC works for owner. What are my relationships and
  • responsibilities for each of the people, I am around and working for.
  • Evaluate your goals and see if you are making strides in achieving them.
  • Ask for Constructive criticism from your foreman on how you are doing.Ask questions & answer while driving to and from jobs, about wiring.
